简介：Nylon6orpolycaprolactamisapolymerdevelopedbyPaulSchlackatIGFarbentoreproducethepropertiesofnylon6,6withoutviolatingthepatentonitsproduction.Itisasemicrystallinepolyamide.Unlikemostothernylons,nylon6isnotacondensationpolymer,butinsteadisformedbyring-openingpolymerization;thismakesitaspecialcaseinthecomparisonbetweencondensationandadditionpolymers.Itscompetitionwithnylon6,6andtheexampleitsethavealsoshapedtheeconomicsofthesyntheticfiberindustry.ItissoldundernumeroustradenamesincludingPerlon(Germany),Nylatron,Capron,Ultramid,Akulon,Kapron(formerSovietUnionandsatellitestates),andDurethan.
用途：用于配制溶剂型尼龙胶黏剂，也用于制造羟甲基尼龙。在工业上，尼龙6广泛用于制作各种轴承、圆柱齿轮、凸轮、伞齿轮、各种辊子、辊轴、滑轮、泵叶轮、风扇叶片、涡轮、推进器、螺钉、螺帽、垫片、高压密封圈、耐油密封垫片、冷冻设备部件、衬垫、阀门座、泵和阀的零件、轴承保持架、汽车和拖拉机上各种输油管、高压油管、贮油容器、活塞、衬套、被覆线、电缆护套等。在电子电气工业中，可做绝缘插座、支撑架、外壳等。在日用品方面可制成薄膜作为包装材料。
