简介：Fluopicolideisafungicideusedinagriculturetocontroldiseasescausedbyoomycetessuchaslateblightofpotato.Itisclassedasanacylpicolideanditschemicalnameis2,6-dichloro-N-[[3-chloro-5-(trifluoromethyl)-2-pyridinyl]methyl]benzamide.Theprecisemodeofactionisnotknown,butitisthoughttoactbyaffectingspectrin-likeproteinsinthecytoskeletonofoomycetes.Thismodeofactiondiffersfromotheravailablefungicidesusedtocontroloomycetesanditcaninhibitthegrowthofstrainsthatareresistanttophenylamides,strobilurin,dimethomorphandiprovalicarb.Ithassomesystemicactivityasitmovesthroughthexylemtowardsthetipsofstems,butdoesnotgettransportedtotheroots.Itaffectsthemotilityofzoospores,thegerminationofcysts,thegrowthofthemyceliumandsporulation.BayerCropSciencedevelopedthecompoundanditwasfirstreleasedasacommercialproductin2006.
