简介：Nitrotyrosineisaproductoftyrosinenitrationmediatedbyreactivenitrogenspeciessuchasperoxynitriteanionandnitrogendioxide.Nitrotyrosineisidentifiedasanindicatorormarkerofcelldamage,inflammationaswellasNO(nitricoxide)production.NitrotyrosineisformedinthepresenceoftheactivemetaboliteNO.Generallyinmanydiseasestates,oxidativestressincreasestheproductionofsuperoxide(O2−)andNOformingperoxynitrite(ONOO−)adestructivefreeradicaloxidant.TheproductionofONOO−iscapableofoxidizingseverallipoproteinsandofnitratingtyrosineresiduesinmanyproteins.ItisdifficulttodeterminetheproductionofONOO−so,usuallynitrotyrosineinproteinsarethedetectablemarkerforindirectlydetectingONOO−.ItisdetectedinlargenumberofpathologicalconditionsandisconsideredamarkerofNO-dependent,reactivenitrogenspecies-inducednitrativestress.Nitrotyrosineisdetectedinbiologicalfluidssuchasplasma,lungaspirants-BALF(Bronchoalveolarliningfluid)andurine.Increasedlevelofnitrotyrosineisdetectedinrheumatoidarthritissepticshockandcoeliacdisease.Inallthesestudiesnitrotyrosinewasundetectedinhealthysubjects.Nitrotyrosineisalsofoundinnumerousotherdisease-affectedtissues,suchasthecorneainkeratoconus.Peroxynitriteand/ornitrativestressmayparticipateinthepathogenesisofdiabetes
